Dry-Kut Load Monitor available for AC motors from 120 Volts single phase through 460 volts three phase.
Customer expanded use of AC Load Monitors in 2007 offers absolute protection of pumps.
Dry run protection for pumps is difficult to control with level switches and transmitters. Calibration can easily drift a fraction of a percent at the low end of the span and cause the switch or transmitter to become ineffective. Now Vector Engineering Group, LLC can offer it's customers absolute protection without the use of those devices.
A load monitor measures the electrical operating load on the pump motor and trips the control circuit (i.e. contactor) when the programmed limits are exceeded. It functions as the overload relay for the motor starter but controls both the high and low load conditions of the pump motor. The programming limits are so sensitive that a change in just a fraction of the baseline performance will trip the Dry-Kut. Small changes in conditions down stream of the pump such as clogged filters, and closed isolation valves on upstream or down stream will readily trip the dry-kut load monitor. This device can be used to prevent cavitation of pumps.
A digital display can be used to spot trends in pump performance.
